I have recently completed developing an enhanced version of my grade book template using MS-Excel.  You can download the grade book self extracting ZIP file directly from this site.  The grade book features such things as a student roster, assigning weights to tests, homework, labs, individual student reports, calculating final grades, an attendance sheet, daily performance grade sheet, seating chart, assignment log, extra credit, and a daily class planner.   The grade book also comes in a student version, so that your students  can keep track of their own grades when you give them back their tests grades and homework.

The file that you will download is a self-extracting "ZIP" file that includes a Quick-Start Guide, Grade Book Templates for both large and small classes, a Student Version of the template, and a complete Instruction Manual for using the grade book system.  Please follow the instructions below very carefully.

Please print this page, and use these instructions when you download the file.  After you print this page, download the grade book self extracting ZIP file.

Steps to Follow When You Download the Grade Book Package:

1. When you click on the grade book self extracting file at this site, you will be given a choice to "Run this program from its current location" or "Save this program to disk."

2. Select "Save this program to disk" and  be sure to put the attached executable in a directory you can easily find.

3. Using either Windows Explorer or "Start" "Run" on the task bar, browse to the executable file that you just downloaded, double click, and execute the file.

4. The self-extracting file will create a folder on your computer called "C:\GradeBook2002."

5. Navigate to the C:\GradeBook2002 folder and open the "Quick Start Guide" to help you get the grade book templates set up.

6. Please open and read the Instruction Manual, when you get a chance, and evaluate it for ease of use and understandability - all feedback is appreciated.  The Instruction Manual will also give you more in-depth information about the features of this grade book package.

7. Open any of the enclosed grade book template files using MS Excel.

8. Experiment and have fun!
