Autumn

Peak to Peak Scenic Byway winds though the Colorado Front Range from Central City and Blackhawk north to Estes Park. Along the way are scenes of Mount Meeker and Long's Peak, two of Colorado's "fourteeners" (over 14,000 feet in elevation) as well as the St. Malo Campground. The St. Malo's Catholic chapel is also known as the Church on the Rock, and was once visited by Pope John Paul II. These photos were taken in late September, 2006. The elk you see in the photos below were hanging out on the golf course in Estes Park - quite an attraction.
